Last year I purchased the cruise package ($100) from AT&T plus the Carnival Cruise Text package. less than 24 hours after I boarded the ship my ATT account was frozen due to large usage. I had to wait until I returned to the US to be able to use my phone. a few weeks late I get my bill that was over $600 dollars more than normal.

It has nothing to do with WiFi calling. You don’t need the ATT cruise ship cellular plan to use WiFi calling, you need the cruise ship’s WiFi plan.
