If you pick up a 454 and it eats/leaks coolant it's likely coming from the lower intake. My tips on the intake manifold job are. -Use blue loctite, or pipe dope, to seal the intake manifold bolts when you tighten them down. I think transplanting into a regular GMT400 (non-3500HD) you'd have a hard time shoehorning an Allison in there unless you did trans tunnel surgery or had a body lift.
