As the goats eat away at it just tighten the straps. Pretty cheap hay feeder. I do something similar. I use a single 20" stock panel with 4x4 squares, put the round bale up on end and wrap the panel around it and secure it with snaps. As the goats eat into the side of the bale, I tighten the wrap on the panel.
