The HOgdon site lists no 7/8 oz loads, and the 24 gram loads they do list, shows WAA12SL wads. I have a fairly large stash of CB0178 (supposedly the WAA12L substitute)The CB0178-12 wad was designed for use in 7/8 oz to 1 oz trap, skeet, or sporting clays loads. Hodgdon lists separate data for the two also. If you look at the data, the Claybuster gives a lower pressure for the same amount of powder. If Hodgdon didn't specifically have Claybuster data it would be safe to use the WAA12sl data fot the CB 1100-12 per the instructions from Claybuster.173 posts · Joined 2006. #4 · Sep 3, 2009. For the AA hull with a 24 gram//7/8 oz shot load, try the CB1100-12. This is the Winchester 12SL copy. I see better uniformity in the patterns and more consistent crimps with good old Red Dot than with the CB0178-12L. It's also easier to pick up and stuff in the wad guide increasing production speed.Low recoil 12 ga. loads using Titewad powder: Winchester AA 2 3/4" hull or equivalent. It is slightly taller than a win L wad, so it works great in the HS hulls with 7/8 load. My 7/8 load is HS hull, 17 to 17.5 of clays or red dot, win 209 primer.
